The accounting study program held an academic seminar entitled “Future Accounting Research: From Ideas to Publications” which presented the speaker Anak Agung Gde Satia Utama. This activity provides deep insight into the development of modern accounting research as well as strategies to produce quality scientific works that are relevant to future needs.
In his presentation, Dr. Anak Agung Gde Satia Utama emphasized that current accounting research not only focuses on financial numbers and statements, but also develops towards digital technology, sustainability, governance, and artificial intelligence in the audit and financial reporting process. According to him, accounting students need to have critical and adaptive thinking skills to be able to produce innovative research that has a real impact on society and the industrial world.
This seminar is designed to help participants understand the flow of research thoroughly, from finding ideas to publishing research results in the form of scientific articles. The learning objectives conveyed include understanding the basic concepts of accounting research, techniques for finding and developing research ideas, selecting the right research methods, preparing proposals and research reports, to understanding academic research ethics.
In addition, participants are also equipped with strategies to turn research results into theses or scientific articles that are suitable for publication in academic journals. The speaker also highlighted various recent and future accounting research issues, such as sustainability reporting, digital accounting, forensic accounting, green accounting, and the use of artificial intelligence in the field of accounting and auditing.
The activity took place interactively with high enthusiasm from the participants consisting of students and academics in the field of accounting. Through this seminar, it is hoped that students will be able to improve the quality of academic research as well as be more prepared to face the challenges of the development of accounting science in the era of digital transformation.
